Almost A New Year

I dont have any pictures for my first blog, but they will come. I've been working on getting my computer to work better. Hopefully, I have suceeded.

The new year is about to begin. I am going to a wedding on Jan.2 and for the wedding gift, I have offered to make a memory quilt. I will be standing by the guest book, asking folks to sign little white squares of fabric with their best wishes, names, etc. Some time after the wedding, I will try to figure out how to use all these little squares in a quilt. I was thinking of using the squares as the centers for fairly large log cabin patches.

I am still thinking about the word "Comfort" and what sort of 12x12 patch Im going to make to represent comfort. I just finished a color class at The Ohio State University and we had to make a piece that represented some song. I picked "Surfin' USA"...and as soon as i figure out how to put photos on this blog, I will try to show what my interpretation of the song was.

It was fun being in that class, as there were several different kinds of art majors...most of the kids were either in painting or drawing, but there was also a glassb lower, and a couple of "art tech" majors, which means that they do most of their art on a computer. It was such fun being in that class. If your state offers free college for folks over 60, I highly recommend you take a class and give it a try...its so much fun!

HAPPY, HEALTHY 2010, and may we all be inspired with our art.
